This is the short illustrated biography of Dorothy Elchlepp. She was the Englishwoman, married to a Freiburger, who spent the Second World War in Freiburg and afterwards became the moving force behind the twinning of Freiburg with Guildford. See Twinning History for more about her story.
Members may remember Dorothy’s son, Dietrich Elchlepp, coming to Guildford a few years ago with his artist wife Zoja, when some of the beautiful tapestries Zoja makes were exhibited in Guildford Cathedral.
